Every Young Person Deserves to Thrive

The African proverb that it takes a village to raise a child sits at the very heart of Adolescent Support Home Services Ltd, and it is a philosophy that shapes everything this Bristol-based organisation does. Founded in 2020 by a seasoned practitioner with extensive experience in the children and young people sector, ASHS Ltd was established with a clear and urgent purpose: to provide a fresh, modern, and genuinely reliable semi-independent supported living service for young people aged 16 to 18, including unaccompanied asylum-seeking children, who deserve nothing less than the opportunity to achieve their own potential.

It is with great pride that we present ASHS Ltd with the Diamond Distinction Award for Semi-Independent Supported Living Provider, Bristol 2026. This recognition honours an organisation whose commitment to young people is unwavering, whose standards are uncompromising, and whose impact on the lives of vulnerable young people across the South West is profound.

A Safe and Nurturing Place to Call Home

ASHS Ltd specialises in providing low-number shared placements in fully furnished, comfortable, and well-presented homes across Bristol, properties that feel like genuine homes, not institutional settings. Around-the-clock support is provided by a dedicated team whose approach is tailored to the unique needs of every young person in placement. Each young person receives a bespoke support package addressing their mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing, with risk assessments completed prior to every placement and six-monthly quality assurance reports sent to placing authorities as standard practice.

Recreational activities, from sports and leisure to cultural and religious participation, are actively encouraged, fostering confidence, wellbeing, and the positive social connections that every young person needs to flourish. Positive contact with family and friends is supported, and the holistic therapeutic offer available to young people in ASHS homes, including access to Systemic and Family Psychotherapy, ensures that healing and growth go hand in hand with the development of independence.

Standards That Set the Bar

From its founding, ASHS Ltd made a clear and deliberate choice: to operate its homes as though the semi-independent sector were already fully regulated, holding itself to the highest possible standards regardless of what the law requires. In a sector where the quality of provision can vary considerably, this commitment to self-imposed rigour speaks volumes about the integrity and ambition of the organisation. ASHS does not aim to meet a standard. It aims to set one. Now that regulation of the sector has been introduced, ASHS is Ofsted registered.

A Diamond Distinction Richly Earned

The Diamond Distinction Award is presented to organisations that go far beyond what is expected, those that make a genuine, lasting difference to the most vulnerable people in our communities. ASHS Ltd does exactly that. For young people navigating some of the most challenging transitions of their lives, ASHS provides not just a roof, but stability, safety, and the kind of consistent, compassionate support that gives every young person a real chance at a better future.

Congratulations to the entire ASHS Ltd team. Your dedication to Bristol's most vulnerable young people is a privilege to recognise and an honour to celebrate. This award is yours, and it is very richly deserved.
